Roving Wall

Street Art Project

The Roving Street Art Project provides a safe and organized platform for graffiti artists to create and share their work with the community.

At each of our events we build temporary, freestanding plywood walls with 8′ x 8′ panels known as the Roving Street Art Wall. Each panel is a blank canvas.

What We Do

A time and place to create

We build temporary, freestanding plywood walls called the Roving Street Art Wall at public locations around the country. The walls will be built so that each artist will have their own plywood canvas each measuring 8’ x 8’. Artists can access these walls for a set period, after which the panels will be relocated to various venues for public exhibition. This initiative allows street artists to showcase their talent in an organized, safe manner for everyone to enjoy.

What is the cost

There is no cost to the artists. In fact, in some cases we will provide paint and supplies. In other cases you will need to bring your own paint.

When and where are the events

Please sign up for our newsletters. We will keep you informed about when and where our events are scheduled.

can anyone paint

Our goal is to provide enough panels for everyone who wants to paint. We encourage you to register for an event if you want to participate. If we run short of canvases we will give preference to those who registered first.

will people be watching

We hope so! These are public events for the entire community to enjoy. Artist are welcome and so are spectators. Who knows, maybe your work will inspire someone to learn how to paint.

Can I keep my painting

Unless otherwise agreed prior to the event, all art created at the event will be subject to our license agreement. This means the organization will have the right to exhibit your work wherever we believe it will do the most good, and for as long as necessary. However, once the exhibition concludes, you will have the opportunity to claim your artwork from us.

do I need to register

Registration is not required prior to the event, but we strongly encourage it. Registered participants will be given priority. Registering helps us gauge interest and estimate the number of participants. However, before you start painting, you will be required to provide your contact information and agree to the licensing agreement.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Roving Street Art Project is an Arts Organization that promotes local artists and showcases their work.   We build temporary, freestanding plywood walls called the Roving Street Art Wall at public locations around the country. The walls will be build so that each artist will have their own plywood canvas each measuring 8’ x 8’.  Artists can access these walls for a set period, after which the panels will be relocated to various venues for public exhibition. This initiative allows street artists to showcase their talent in an organized, safe manner for everyone to enjoy.

The organization was founded in August of 2024 and we expect to host our first artist event in the Spring of 2025.

Most graffiti art works cannot be moved. They are typically created on a building or immobile wall. The Roving Street Art Project builds temporary walls made of wood panels (canvases). Each of the panels will be removed from the wall and most of them will be placed for public exhibit.

As an artist you get an opportunity to create work. You also get public exposure of your work.

Information about you and your work will be available on our social media and websites.

I’m an artist, how can I participate?

Just show up to an event and create.

You can create an account on our artists page. We will keep you updated on event information. You will have the opportunity to register for events once they are scheduled.

We hope to have enough canvases for everyone who wants to participate, including walk-ups who do not register. However, if we run out of space, we will give preference to those who registered first.

Are there any limits on what artists create?

Artists are free to create anything they wish.

However, the management of the organization and the event venue reserve the right to remove it from public display if they feel it is too provocative or inappropriate for the venue. If you want to maximize the potential exposure of your work, consider the inherent limitations on where sensitive images or messages can be exhibited.

Send us an email with your request. Let us know where your space is located and if you have a preference regarding particular works or artists.

We will try to accommodate every possible request. However, we will always let the artists know about requests for their art and ask for their feedback on your request.

We hope to host our first event in the Spring of 2025.

Sign up for our event notifications and we will keep you up to date.
